Apple refrains from disclosing battery capacities for its latest iPhone 15 lineup, but this information has been uncovered by MySmartPrice through a Chinese regulatory database.

The Chinese regulatory listing provides insights into the battery capacities and wattage for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. The battery capacities for the complete iPhone 15 lineup and the 2022 iPhone 14 lineup are as follows:

iPhone 15 Lineup

  • iPhone 15: 3,349mAh
  • iPhone 15 Plus: 4,383mAh
  • iPhone 15 Pro: 3,274mAh
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max: 4,422mAh

2022 iPhone 14 Lineup

  • iPhone 14: 3,279mAh
  • iPhone 14 Plus: 4,325mAh
  • iPhone 14 Pro: 3,200mAh
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323mAh

Notably, the same database had accurately revealed battery capacities for the entire iPhone 14 lineup before those devices were launched last year.

However, Apple did not emphasize any battery life enhancements for the new iPhone 15 models in comparison to their immediate predecessors. This suggests that any differences in real-world usage are negligible, contrary to numerous rumors leading up to Apple’s event, which had suggested that the A17 Pro chip’s significant efficiency improvements would lead to better battery life.

Apple has indicated the approximate battery life for each iPhone 15 model as follows:

  • iPhone 15: 20 hours
  • iPhone 15 Plus: 26 hours
  • iPhone 15 Pro: 23 hours
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max: 29 hours

These figures align exactly with the iPhone 14 models. While efficiency improvements may potentially result in slightly better real-world performance, it remains to be confirmed until third-party tests are available.

Apple unveiled all four iPhone 15 models earlier this week, with pre-orders beginning on Friday. The devices are scheduled to be launched on September 22.
