MacBook Pro Concept Video Envisions OLED Display With Rounded Edges, Face ID, and More
Apple is going to have a busy 2019, and it’s not all just about services, either. New hardware is reportedly on the way, too.
Late last night, a report based on information shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple was planning on launching a redesigned, all-new 16- to 16.5-inch MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, details on the new design are pretty light, but it does sound like Apple plans on shrinking the bezels at least somewhat when compared to the current model designs. Whether or not Apple plans on making other key changes, like to the keyboard, remains to be seen (or even rumored).
So, leave it up to a concept artist to put together something that is not only remarkably lofty, but also pretty awesome to look at. Viktor Kadar put together the video, which you can watch below, that shows us a 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro with a noteworthy redesign. Especially when it comes to the display. Kadar envisions an OLED display with rounded edges. It honestly takes some time to get used to, but, like the iPhone X and new iPad Pro, it could definitely work.
The keyboard is indeed redesigned, this time put together with “shape-memory alloy”. In this concept, that means the keyboard would offer up better stability and better accuracy than the current version of Apple’s troublesome Butterfly keyboard design. And we also get to see Face ID make an appearance as well, thanks to a newly-designed front-facing camera.
Check out the video:
This display is pretty great and I would definitely not mind to see Apple follow this design philosophy. Is it likely? Probably not. But maybe if we all remain hopeful and cross our fingers, we could see something pretty bold from Apple with the new MacBook Pro this year.
