iOS 12 unveiled

iOS 12’s adoption rate continues to tick up, and now, just a couple of months into 2019, Apple is pretty close to 100% adoption.

Of course, with millions of devices out there in the wild a 20% separation is still pretty vast. Still, there is no denying that 80% adoption isn’t impressive. And that’s what Apple is sitting at now, courtesy of data provided by the company via its App Store support page. According to the company, iOS 12 is now installed on 80 percent of all devices out there in the wild. Meanwhile, iOS 11 is still installed on 12% of devices, and older versions of the mobile operating system are now at 8 percent.

In another stat, one that Apple is now promoting quite a bit, iOS 12 is now installed on 83% of devices that were launched within the last four years. Compare that to last month, when Apple said that 78% of devices out there in the wild sold within the last four years. iOS 11 is still installed on 12% of devices sold in the last four years, and older versions are at 5%.

The latest stats are in and it looks like iOS 12 is outpacing iOS 11 –within the same stretch of time– by at least 10 percent. That’s something! We all know that iOS 12 had a bit of a slow adoption rate right out of the gate, but things have definitely turned around for the company.

Have you updated all of your compatible iOS devices to iOS 12?
