If you have a select Sonos-branded speaker and use Apple Music, then today your device is getting a nice little trick thanks to Amazon Alexa support.

Beginning today, both the Sonos Beam and the Sonos One speakers support using Amazon Alexa to control Apple Music with voice controls. That support is available in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. To make it work, you’ll need to add the Apple Music skill in the Alexa app. Alexa has been supported on Sonos speakers to serve as the digital personal assistant on supported devices for quite some time.

Apple Music expanded beyond the HomePod smart speaker to Amazon’s own Echo smart speaker lineup in December of last year. A big move for Apple, considering that one of the HomePod’s major selling features is Siri and Apple Music. Now that the Alexa-based Apple Music skill is moving to Sonos speakers, this means Apple Music subscribers have yet another option to listen to their favorite music while at home.
