You Can Buy an Original, Factory Sealed iPod on eBay for $19,995

Do you happen to have an extra $19,995 lying around? Have you been meaning to buy an original, factory sealed iPod for quite some time? Well then, today is your lucky day!

Over on eBay, there is a listing for what’s described as a “brand new” original iPod. This device is still factory sealed in its original plastic, too, so it’s never been open or used. But, as mentioned above you’ll need to fork over almost $20,000 to make it yours. That’s more than 50 times what the original iPod sold for 18 years ago, when it was going for a steep $399 at the time.

Of course, that $399 meant you could have 1,000 songs in your pocket back in the day. It also got you that impressive scroll wheel –which helped the iPod dominate the market– and up to 10 hours of battery life. All of those specifications and features have been improved a great deal since 2001, but there is definitely some nostalgia here.

Is the $19,995 price tag a bit too steep? Well, that will come down to the individual. This isn’t the first time an original iPod sold for this much, though. Back in 2014, for instance, an iPod was sold on eBay for $20,000. So this one’s practically a steal!
