We aren’t quite through the month of February, which means Apple might not be ready to officially announce dates for its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t know when, and where, it’s going to take place. According to a report from MacRumors on Tuesday, Apple will be kicking off its annual developers conference on Monday, June 3. It will run until Friday, June 7. And, as has been the case for quite some time now, the event will be taking place at the McEnergy Convention Center in San Jose, California.
The weeklong conference has been scheduled around the same time in recent years. Back in 2017, for example, the event kicked off on June 4 and ran until June 8. Last year, Apple hosted WWDC from June 5 through June 9. Apple has gone with the McEnergy Convention Center for those events, and it looks like the company will be sticking to tradition this year as well.
Process of elimination got us here. The publication was able to confirm that an event of some kind is scheduled for that week at the center. Meanwhile, the second and fourth weeks of the month have already publicized events on the books, which rules them out entirely. It was then discovered, via a 2019 events calendar for the city of San Jose, that an event titled “Team San Jose 2019 WWDC” is taking place at Discovery Meadow on June 6 from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM local time. That certainly lends some weight to the rumored dates for the developers conference itself, with the party already on the books during the same week.
Nothing is confirmed quite yet. Apple will likely not announce the dates for this year’s WWDC until sometime in March. However, June 3 through June 7 certainly seems like a safe bet. Who’s excited to see what Apple is working on this year? Rumor has it that iOS 13 is getting a dark mode, along with plenty of other important changes for the mobile OS, especially on the iPad, this year.
