Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd revised the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release again on Thursday with a slew of bug fixes and improvements. The latest version of the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is now beta version 38.

Pwn20wnd announced the update via Twitter Thursday morning, noting that it would implement fixes to the v1ntex exploit, among other things:

Citing the changelog published on the unc0ver GitHub page,
unc0ver v3.0.0 beta 38 comprises of the following changes:

02/28/2019 – v3.0.0~b38 was released for public testing with the following changes:

– Fix the v1ntex exploit

– Fix a theoretical bug in determining the device support status

– Fix a theoretical bug in the UI

– Update the APT lists cache file for repositories

Pwn20wnd implemented ‘partial’ support for 4K devices running iOS 12 on Wednesday, but as we learn from a response to an avid jailbreaker, full-fledged support with Cydia and Cydia Substrate won’t be implemented until Saurik fixes a bug with the latter. As you might come to expect, Saurik is a busy guy; that said, there’s no ETA concerning when that might happen.

Another note for the observant folks out there is that Pwn20wnd
has changed his name on Twitter again from “Pwn20wnd is preparing 4K support
for unc0ver” to “Pwn20wnd is experimenting with unc0ver for A12.” This would
suggest that Pwn20wnd is currently tinkering with A12 support for unc0ver as we
wait for Saurik to implement a fix for 4K devices.

As it would seem, the Cydia Substrate bug also impacts A12
devices, but completing an iOS 12 jailbreak for the A12 variety will necessitate
a few additional ingredients before the final product can be released, such as PAC.

should be noted that the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is still a beta, and while
it might be tempting to hop onboard right now, we’d strongly advise waiting for
the official public release to prevent any possible bugs from manifesting. At
the time of this writing, A12 aren’t yet supported, but that’s expected to
change after full 4K support is completed.

already jailbroken on iOS 12 with the unc0ver v3.0.0
pre-release are being advised to download and run this update as soon as
possible to take full advantage of the new features and improvements.

latest public release of the unc0ver jailbreak tool is v2.2.6 with support for
iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 4 – the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is the only iteration
that supports iOS 11.4-11.4.1. Both versions of the unc0ver jailbreak tool can be had from Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository.

you’re not already on a jailbreakable version of iOS 12, then be advised
that iOS 12.1.1 beta 3 is still being signed, which means you can still
downgrade to it via iTunes
. You can use IPSW.me to check the signing status of any
firmware version before attempting a downgrade via iTunes.
