As promised, the @pwn20wnd team has released b41 of Unc0ver with support for 4K devices powered by an A7 or A8 chip. The support means that iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 5s owners can now also jailbreak their iPhone running iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2.

The jailbreak for 4K devices is based on the machswap exploit by @iBSparkes and has a 95 percent success rate. Additionally, the update also fixes a faulty kernel patch and brings some other changes.

The full change-log of the release is below:

  • Add the machswap exploit by @iBSparkes with 95% success rate for all 4K devices on iOS 11.0-12.1.2
  • Remove the v1ntex and v3ntex exploits
  • Update jailbreak-resources to fix a faulty kernel patch

If you are planning on jailbreaking your 4K iPhone, you must remove any downloaded iOS 12 OTA update from your device. Not doing so can end up putting your iPhone or iPad in a respring or reboot loop. You can follow our guide on how to use Unc0ver to jailbreak your iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2. After that, make sure to check out the list of the best jailbreak tweaks and Cydia sources to have the best jailbreaking experience possible.

Now that the Unc0ver team has added support for 4K devices, they will now start working on adding support for A12 Bionic devices like the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. There’s no word on when that release will drop though, given the pace the @pwn20wnd team is working at, I guess it should be sooner than later.

If you appreciate the hard work being done by the @pwn20wnd team, make sure to donate to them.
