Apple today seeded third betas for the upcoming iOS 12.2, watchOS 5.2 and tvOS 12.2 software updates to its registered developers and members of the Apple Developer Program. The latest releases will launch shortly for public beta testers (public betas are generally identical to developer betas).
We’re installing the new iOS 12.2 beta on our devices to see if it has restored group FaceTime functionality for iOS 12.2 beta testers (regular users have received a fix for the eavesdropping issue in iOS 12.1.4). Today’s releases exclude macOS Mojave 10.14.4 beta 3 which dropped yesterday.
To install iOS 12.2 beta 3 (build 16E5201e), tap Settings → General → Software Update on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

To install tvOS 12.2 beta 3 (build 16L5201d), tap Settings → System → Software Updates → Update Software on your fourth or fifth-generation Apple TV.
Be sure that your device is running a special configuration profile that can be downloaded from Apple’s Development Center portal or you won’t be able to install Apple beta software.
The inaugural iOS 12.2 beta brought about a few noteworthy changes and improvements, including Apple News support in Canada, the addition of HomeKit TV support, subscriptions in the News app, a redesigned Apple TV Remote widget in Control Center, support for a future AirPods revision with the Hey Siri feature, four new Animoji and more.
watchOS 5.2 and tvOS 12.2 are mostly about bug fixes, as is the macOS Mojave 10.14.4 update which happens to include a pair of tweaks for Touch ID AutoFill in Safari and automatic Dark Mode for websites.
We are expecting the above updates, as well as watchOS 5.2, to stay in beta for several weeks, and perhaps to be ready to go public some time in March, most likely at some point following Apple’s supposed press event on March 25.
