Premium accessory maker Satechi today released a pair of new accessories designed for Mac and iPad Pro models that feature USB-C connections.

The first new product is a handy 3.5mm headphone jack adapter that lets you listen to music while fast-charging your iPhone. The other is a durable, nylon-woven braided cable that supports up to hundred wats of power and data speeds of up to 480 megabits per second.

USB-C headphone jack adapter

This tiny headphone jack adapter, housed in a sleek aluminum enclosure, not only looks great but also provides a much-needed function that Apple’s own $9 adapter neglects—a built-in USB-C port for charging your device while listening to music at the same time, ensuring your device is always juiced up when needed the most. The USB-C port is rater for 89 watts of power so you can charge even your MacBook Pro through it.

You get to both listen to your music and charge at the same time

The USB-C port is fully compliant with the USB Power Delivery protocol, providing flexible power delivery and overcharge protection and letting you fast-charge your iPad with the included 18 watt USB-C adapter while enjoying music.

Of course, this adapter won’t work on iPhones because the other side of the cable has the male USB-C connection and iPhones are Lightning based. But if you own 2018 iPad Pro or just wanna future proof when iPhones switch to USB-C or you have other USB-C devices that could benefit from this cable, do give it a try (it doesn’t work with the Moto and One Plus 6 devices).

Key highlights

  • USB-C Power Delivery charging and audio control support for on-the-go accessibility
  • Clear audio and powerful charging housed in a sleek aluminum enclosure
  • Charge devices while listening to music

The accessory is available in Space Gray via Amazon.com for $25.

USB-C 100W charge cable

Not all USB-C cables are created equal.

Some are data-only and others are only used for charging. Even with combined cables that do power and data at the same time you need to carefully read the wattage specifications.

Satechi was one of the first major brands to manufacture a USB-C cable with the best of both worlds. Their new cable is fully compatible with the USB Power Delivery protocol, giving you a peace of mind knowing you won’t overcharge your device.

The durable, braided nylon design helps prevent against breakage to ensure a long lifespan

It can transfer data between USB-C devices like MacBooks at up to 480 megabits per second while delivering up to a hundred watts of power, enough to juice up even the power hungriest Apple notebook, the 15-inch MacBook Pro.

It does not support USB-C video output.

Satechi is constantly expanding its lineup of versatile USB-C accessories

The integrated Velcro strap keeps excess cable neatly wrapped up when stored away. As a bonus, you’ll definitely love the durable braided nylon material that does a great job protecting against cable breakage.

Also, it’s a long cable (2 meters).

Key highlights

  • Reversible USB-C connectors on each side
  • USB Power Delivery (PD) is fully supported
  • Data transfer of up to 480 Mbps between USB-C
  • Durable design helps prevent against breakage
  • Velcro strap keeps the cable tangle-free

The cable is available in Space Gray via Amazon.com at $20.

These accessories work with 2018 iPad Pro and newer Macs that have USB-C. Of course, just about any USB-C device will also work with these gadgets without any issues whatsoever, including non-Apple smartphones, tablets and laptops with USB-C ports.
