Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd pushed a small update to the iOS 11-centric unc0ver jailbreak tool over the weekend, bringing its version number up to 2.2.5.

Citing the changelog on Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository, v2.2.5 is a minor update that includes improvements to the jailbreak tool’s built-in diagnostics. More specifically, they now include the log file, a useful thing to have when troubleshooting jailbreak errors:

02/03/2019 – v2.2.5 was released for production with the following changes:

– Make diagnostics include the log file again

Because unc0ver v2.2.5 is a public release, this update is recommended for all users. Anyone who might be using an earlier version of the tool can simply sideload the latest version and re-run the jailbreak to receive the latest patches.

As always, you can download the latest version unc0ver from Pwn20wnd’s GitHub repository, but be sure you download the v2.2.5 public release and not the v3.0.0 pre-release, as the latter is a beta for public testing purposes and could be prone to bugs.

Unc0ver v2.2.5 supports all iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3 devices and is a semi-tethered jailbreak. If you’ve never jailbroken with unc0ver before, then you can follow our detailed step-by-step tutorial to learn how.
