Apple-owned Beats has delayed its Hey Siri-enabled Powerbeats Pro sporty earphones until next month. The postponed launch in Japan was first reported by Japanese blog Mac Otakara while MacRumors figured out the rest.

According to the fine print on the Beats website, Powerbeats Pro orders will start shipping in the following markets in July:

  • Austria
  • Brazil
  • Belgium
  • Hong Kong
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • Russia
  • Singapore
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Taiwan

The headphones were originally scheduled to launch in these regions this month.

As we noted in our initial review, Powerbeats Pro have an IPX4 water resistance rating which means they should not fail when exposed to sweat-hardly a surprise given they’re engineered to be used mostly for working out and other sporting activities.

The sporty earphones powered by the Apple-designed H1 headphone chip went on sale in the United Kingdom, France and Germany in May following their US debut a month earlier. Powerbeats Pro cost $250 in the US and €250 in most European countries. The earphones are available from Amazon, Apple.com, B&H Photo and other retailers in Black.

Additional color options, like Moss, Navy and Ivory, will arrive later this year.

Like all tiny earbuds, Powerbeats Pro leave a lot to be desired in terms of repairability.
