Eclipse by iOS developer Guillermo Morán (fr0st) was perhaps the most conspicuous dark mode jailbreak tweak ever conceived for the iOS platform, and those who’ve just jailbroken iOS 12 with Pwn20wnd’s unc0ver tool should be pleased to hear that Eclipse Dark Mode (iOS 12) is now available for download.

Just like
its predecessor, Eclipse Dark Mode (iOS 12) continues its longstanding
legacy by bringing a full-fledged dark mode experience to pwned iPhones and
iPads alike. Users can ultimately choose between an OLED-friendly pitch-black
UI experience, or they can toggle custom theme presets, which offer a variety
of other color schemes.

Upon installing Eclipse Dark Mode (iOS 12), you’ll find a
preference pane in the Settings app:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Eclipse on or off on demand
  • Configure which applications the tweak will
    impact
  • Disable the tweak on SpringBoard
  • Enable lighter table cells for visibility
    purposes
  • Hide or show cell separators
  • Configure color options
  • Adjust miscellaneous options

Delving deeper, you’ll find that Eclipse Dark Mode (iOS 12)
provides the following fine-grained controls:

  • Colorize your iPhone or iPad’s keyboard
  • Colorize various loading screens
  • Tint SMS and iMessage bubbles

The developer includes a Reload SpringBoard button in the
primary preference pane that you should use any time you make changes to the
preference pane. This ensures your new settings take effect and that you get
the full experience of your custom dark mode options.

This version of the tweak is only certified to work on jailbroken iOS 12 devices. Those using an earlier version of iOS should use one of the tweak’s predecessors instead.
