This week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup features a sharp-looking habit tracker, a font app for fans of HBO’s Game of Thrones and a photo/video editor with crazy effects. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Order
Put order in your life by keeping track of your routines until they turn into full-blown habits. The aptly-named Order uses an intuitive, email-like functionality to help you maintain healthy routines effortlessly and effectively without the anxiety of daily streaks or to do lists. Want to start reading more? Become more productive? Get in better shape? If you haven’t found an app that fits your style or goals, check out Order.
Game of Fonts
Now I know this one is a bit cheesy, but as we are now in the final Game of Thrones season, I couldn’t not mention this. Game of Fonts features fonts, stickers and photo filters in the style of HBO’s hit show. Set your images on fire like Daenerys, freeze them like the Night King, or frame them with swords of the Iron Throne. And once you’ve customized your photos, you can share them just about anywhere you please.
D’efekt
I’m a sucker for photo/video editors that offer unique effects, so it’s no surprise D’efekt caught my attention. I mean just look at the screenshots above and you get the idea of what this app is capable of. The usual freemium app tricks are at play here—in-app purchases to remove the watermark and unlock some of the effects—but if you are looking to set your Instagram posts apart from others, you have to check this app out.
Series: Your Story Universe
The interactive narratives in Series: Your Story Universe bring classic TV shows and movies to life. Design a stylish avatar and star alongside the case of Saved By the Bell, Bridesmaids and more. The fate of the story is in your hands, as your choices guide the plot. Are you going to homecoming with Kelly? Would you be willing to break up a royal wedding? The only way to find out is to play! I know what I’ll be doing this weekend.
Tiny Alien
Looking for something a little less involved? Check out Tiny Alien. Here you just jump and shoot your way through space, trying to defeat the evil empire and bring back the sacred gems. It’s a fast-paced arcade platformer with nostalgic pixel graphics and a fun soundtrack. Other features include unlockable characters, boss battles and support for Game Center and haptic feedback.
