Following the release of over four dozen beta releases, the @pwn20wnd team has released the first stable release of Unc0ver 3.0 jailbreak for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2.

Compared to the initial beta releases of Unc0ver jailbreak, the production release is going to be more stable and pack fewer bugs. However, just like the beta versions, Unc0ver jailbreak only supports non-A12(X) Bionic devices like the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone 6s etc. The jailbreaking tool will be updated to add support for A12 Bionic devices like the iPhone XS and iPhone XR once there’s proper Cydia Substrate or Substitute support for it.

Right before the production release of unc0ver 3.0 jailbreak, the @pwn20wnd team dropped the beta 51 release of the jailbreak tool with the following changes:

  • Clean up
  • Update jailbreak-resources to improve the performance and fix a kernel memory leak
  • Display the bytes written to the kernel memory in the status message
  • Fix the icon cache issue in RootFS Restore (e.g. Cydia staying on the home screen after restoring the root filesystem)

If you are already running a relatively newer build of Unc0ver jailbreak on your iPhone or iPad, my recommendation would be to stick to it. If you are on an older build though, you should update to the production release for all the stability improvements and fixes it brings to the table.

You can update to the latest release of Unc0ver jailbreak simply updating the app through Impactor or Reprovision and then re-jailbreaking your device again. Make sure to check out the list of the best jailbreak tweaks and Cydia sources to have the best jailbreaking experience possible
