First teaser trailer for the upcoming AR game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

We first heard about Niantic’s next augmented reality game, which would be based on the Harry Potter franchise, in 2017. And then, last year, we finally got our first teaser trailer for the title known as Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. And now the developer is making it easy for future players to secure their names.

On Thursday, Niantic, the developer behind popular AR games Pokémon GO and Ingress launched a dedicated website for players of those games to transfer their usernames over to the incoming Wizards Unite. The title is set to arrive later this summer, with no exact release date confirmed just yet. However, Niantic is making it easy for folks who are looking forward to playing the game to secure their names ahead of time.

So if you want to use the same username you have from Niantic’s other AR games, you can do so. You’ll need to head through the Niantic source link at the bottom of the article, and you’ll need to enter either your Pokémon GO or Ingress login credentials. Once you do, players will be able to select the option to transfer over their information to Wizards Unite.

It works for both iOS and Android users.

As we near the inevitable launch date of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, Niantic should have more to share. When the developer does, we will let you know what the company’s next AR game brings to the table. Will this new franchise-based title be as popular as the Pokémon game from years ago? One has to imagine Niantic hopes it will be. There’s certainly no denying that Harry Potter is still wildly popular.
