Late last year, Microsoft announced that it would be rebuilding its Edge web browser based on the Chromium rendering engine. The same one that Google uses for Chrome. At the same time, Microsoft announced Edge would mark the company’s (triumphant) return to an official web browser for Apple’s desktop operating system.

It was just yesterday that Microsoft teased the incoming arrival of Edge for macOS at the start of its BUILD developers conference. Word on the street was that Microsoft was planning to launch the software “soon”, but no specific release date was confirmed. Now it certainly looks like the official launch might be soon, as late-stage developer builds have leaked via Microsoft’s official servers.

Twitter user WalkingCat was the first to discover both the daily Canary builds of Edge for macOS, as well as the weekly Dev build as well. Both are designed to be tested ahead of a public launch, but if anyone wants to try Edge for macOS ahead of that day, that is possible. And the links are still live on Microsoft’s official servers, both of which you can find below.

Microsoft is making sure that Edge works with macOS keyboard shortcuts, and also building in Touch Bar support as well. Among much more.
