Leak: Apple Will Rename iOS for iPad to ‘iPadOS’

A last-minute leak before WWDC 2019 opening keynote suggests that Apple will be renaming iOS for the iPad to iPadOS. The name has been mentioned on Apple’s developer portal and documentation which is as real as things can get.
Other details about iPad OS remain scarce at this point but it is clear that iPadOS is simply iOS spun-off for the iPad. This move will allow Apple to introduce some new features and changes to the OS that will remain specific to the iPad.
This leak is definitely going to ruin at least one of the surprises that Apple had in store for WWDC 2019.

iOS 13 is expected to introduce a number of new iPad-centric changes that would help improve the overall multitasking experience on it. It looks like these changes have led Apple to rename iOS for the iPad to iPadOS. Perhaps Marzipan apps also have a role to play here. Thankfully, we will know all about this in less than an hour from now when the opening keynote of WWDC 2019 kicks off.
