The Electra team today released Chimera 1.0.5 jailbreak for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 which fixes a bug with the Send bug in Mail.app, updates Sileo to v1.0.6, and fixes an A12 Bionic-related camera bug.
Some other underlying changes with the update should also help in fixing the black screen that many users were greeted with during step 2 while using Chimera to jailbreak their iPhone or iPad. Plus, the overall success rate should also improve with this update.

While minor, such bug-fixing updates are important as they help in improving the overall stability of Chimera jailbreak.
If you have already jailbroken your iPhone or iPad running iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 using Chimera jailbreak and things are working fine for you, there’s no need to update to the latest version. However, if you are facing stability issues, make sure to update to the latest Chimera release.
Chimera jailbreak was released by the Electra team late last month. Apart from featuring a slick app, it is a more stable jailbreak in nature since it has CoreTrust Bypass. Additionally, it is capable of jailbreaking iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and other A12-A12X Bionic devices which are not supported by Unc0ver iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak. The only gripe with Chimera is that it uses Sileo as its default package manager in favor of the more popular but outdated Cydia.
