Haitong Intl Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu revealed some information about the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus based on some of his expectations from their supply chains. He revealed that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus might feature a 48-megapixel primary camera, which was made available exclusively on the iPhone 14 Pro series. However, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are unlikely to feature a telephoto camera or a LiDAR scanner.

Furthermore, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are expected to feature USB Type-C, which is also likely to be available on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Both phones may draw power from the Apple A16 Bionic, which fuels the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max (or the iPhone 15 Ultra) could be Apple’s first phone to feature a periscope zoom camera. Popular Apple analyst Ming-Chu Kuo has claimed that it might be a 12-megapixel snapper, which may bring support for up to 6x optical zoom. A telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom will also likely stay on the device.

The iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to feature the next-generation Apple A17 chip, which will be manufactured with 3nm technology. It will also offer some updated features like a USB Type-C port, 8GB of RAM, and a titanium frame. Pu has claimed that the volume and power buttons (which could be solid-state buttons) of the iPhone 15 Pro will have haptic feedback. He added that the iPhone 15 Pro would have a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max will get a 6.7-inch display, like the previous generation.

Pu also said the company aims to release the iPhone 15 series in stores on September 23rd, 2023. A previous report claimed that the Pro Max model might come in 256GB and 1TB storage versions. The latter is likely to cost $1,799.
