• The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are expected to have a taptic engine-powered volume and power buttons
  • Although the vanilla iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is expected to feature the same old mechanical buttons

According to the popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will replace the clicky volume and power buttons with the taptic ones on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. The analyst further stated that if users appreciate the change, it will extend to other devices.

Apple is said to replace the buttons with their taptic engine to preserve that clicky feel. It’s not new, as we have already seen this technology in the iPhone 7 home button. Apart from that, the recently launched MacBooks also featured a similar trackpad with solid-state components.

The Solid-state buttons on iPhones are a positive change. It could improve water resistance while eliminating moving parts that can wear out or break over time. However, the vanilla iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to feature the same old mechanical buttons.

In addition, Apple is planning to extend the Dynamic Island to all four iPhone 15 models launching later this year. It is currently available for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Furthermore, future iPhones are rumoured to include USB Type-C and a titanium frame instead of stainless steel.

iPhone 15 Ultra price (leaked)

As per the rumour, Apple is likely to change the name of its iPhone Pro Max to iPhone Ultra, and it is expected to cost $1,299 (roughly Rs 1,07,330). It is a $200 (roughly Rs 16,500) increase in price compared to its predecessor. However, do keep in mind that the India pricing may change due to customs duty and other charges.

The leaker stated on Twitter, “The new iPhones are going to be more expensive, even in the USA. Year after year, Apple’s margins have decreased. Rising production costs and inflation, which makes the money the company has in the bank worth less, have finally broken the camel’s back.”

Like every year, Apple will release the iPhone 15 series in September 2023. However, before the release of the new iPhones, Apple is expected to reveal its much-anticipated mixed-reality headgear at WWDC in June 2023.
