Jailbreakers rejoice; iOS developer maximehip has released a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed HuddyX that revamps the volume HUD on notched handsets such as the iPhone X, XR, XS, and XS Max to make it much less intrusive.

In the screenshot example above, you can discern how HuddyX materializes as a black extension from the notch itself, appearing at the top of the display with a live volume indicator inside of it.

As you might come to expect, HuddyX only appears when you interact with your handset’s volume buttons. After a few seconds of inactivity, HuddyX recedes back up into the notch as if it was never even there.

In addition to diminishing the volume HUD’s intrusiveness, HuddyX looks good and augments the experience of any notched handset. With that in mind, it comes with our recommendation if you have a compatible device.

HuddyX doesn’t come with any options to configure, so what you see is essentially what you get. With notched handsets becoming the norm in Apple’s contemporary smartphone lineup, we expect notch-embracing jailbreak tweaks like HuddyX will only become more prevalent as time goes on.
