Sync Fitbit Apple Health Featured

At $400, Apple Watch isn’t for everyone. If you’re looking for a simple fitness tracker which counts steps, tracks workouts and your sleep, a $100 Fitbit is a great option. But the only problem is the lack of native integration. By default, Fitbit doesn’t sync your sleep, workouts, weight or steps to the Health app. But it’s possible to do using a third party app. Here’s how you can sync Fitbit with Apple Health app.

How to Sync Fitbit with Apple Health Using Sync Solver for Fitbit

The best thing about Apple Health is the dashboard view. You get information from multiple fitness apps on one screen. If you want to add Fitbit to the list, you can use a third party app called Sync Solver for Fitbit.

It acts as a middleman for data between Fitbit and Apple Health. You download the app and link your Fitbit account with it. This brings all the data from Fitbit to the app.

Then integrate Sync Solver with Apple Health. This is a one time process. Give the proper permissions and select the attributes you want to sync. You can manually sync data. The first sync will take a while. Once it’s done, go and check the data in Health app to find it there.

Once the initial setup is complete, let Sync Solver do its thing. It uses Apple’s background sync feature. It will automatically sync data from Fitbit to Health every hour. But more realistically, you can expect it to sync 2-4 times a day. If the sync isn’t working, you can manually do it as well. If you want to only sync sleep and weight data, it would be a good thing to do manually every morning.

Alternatively, you can use an IFTTT applet to sync the data in the background, without using an app. It’s also free.

There’s an applet by IFTTT for syncing sleep readings from Fitbit to Apple Health. There’s another IFTTT applet by a user that syncs all data from Fitbit to Apple Health.
