Mute Group Text Notifications iPhone

Group text messages are convenient for making plans together or just chatting with others. Whether it’s a group of friends or members of your family, you can all get together digitally. But, if you have many people in the group or some who are constantly texting, the notifications for new messages can get out of control.

You may not want to leave the group text, but instead just check the messages when you have time rather than being bombarded with alerts. Here’s how to hide alerts for group texts on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Hide alerts on iPhone and iPad

Open up the Messages app on your iPhone or iPad and follow one of these sets of steps to mute the
notifications.

1) Find the
conversation you want to mute in your list.

2) Slide from
right to left until the small menu appears.

3) Tap Hide Alerts.

Or, if you are already within the group text window:

1) Tap the names
at the very top of the text window until the menu appears.

2) Select Info.

3) Enable Hide Alerts and tap Done.
