HBO, Cinemax, EPIX, and More Added to ‘Apple TV Channels’ in Latest iOS 12.3, tvOS 12.3 Betas

Earlier this year, Apple announced an updated and revamped Apple TV app, which includes “Apple TV Channels”. Ahead of the public launch, Apple is building that feature, improving it. That includes adding channels like HBO.

Apple TV Channels, when the feature arrives later this year, will allow customers to subscribe to their favorite premium content on an individual basis. This should make subscribing to HBO, Showtime, Starz, and other options easier and more fluid. It will also make it possible to watch the content in those premium apps in one spot, rather than opening each individual app.

Now, Apple has updated the available options with the latest iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 betas, which Apple seeded to developers recently. HBO is now available as an option, adding to the already available Showtime, Tastemade, Smithsonian, and Starz options. That’s the biggest of the big channels added in the latest batch, but Apple also added Cinemax, EPIX, UMC, Lifetime Movie Club, and Sundance Now.

Apple TV’s revamped app, and Apple TV Channels, are set to launch later this year. They will arrive at the same time as the original content effort from Apple, Apple TV+.
