The iPhone 15, having been in the market for approximately a month, has garnered attention from consumers who have transitioned to one of its four new models. Notably, the latest iPhone models boast exclusive features not available on earlier iterations. In this regard, BGR has identified 11 distinctive features found solely on the recent iPhone models.

Limit charging to 80%:

  • iPhone 15 introduces the ability to restrict battery charging beyond 80%, enhancing battery longevity and minimizing the risk of overheating. This setting can be accessed through Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Charging Optimization.

Reverse charge smaller devices:

  • The new USB-C port enables the iPhone 15 to charge smaller devices, such as AirPods and Apple Watch, at a speed of up to 4.5W. Additionally, it can charge Lightning iPhones or other USB-C devices with reduced power.

24MP JPEG:

  • The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max default to 24MP for photos, offering heightened clarity and sharpness compared to the previous 12MP default. While more recent iPhones can capture 24MP HEIF photos, the experience is distinct.

  • Leveraging the second-generation Ultra Wideband, iPhone 15 facilitates locating friends or family members sharing their locations, especially in crowded settings, through the Find My app.

Find your iPhone with Apple Watch:

  • Utilizing the second-generation Ultra Wideband, both iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Series 9/Ultra 2 enable the use of the Apple Watch to locate a misplaced iPhone by triggering a sound and revealing its precise location.

Switch default camera lenses:

  • iPhone 15 Pro owners can alter the default camera lenses from 24mm to 28mm or 35mm, catering to preferences for closer shots. This can be configured in Settings > Camera > Main Camera.

Action Button:

  • Exclusive to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the Action Button replaces the Mute Switch, offering various functionalities, such as shortcuts to play favorite songs on Apple Music.

Log videos:

  • Pro iPhones allow video recording in Log format, providing enhanced post-production flexibility. This option can be accessed under Settings > Camera > Formats > Video Capture.

A17 Pro exclusive games:

  • Featuring the A17 Pro chip, iPhone 15 Pro users gain access to exclusive games, including Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Spatial Video:

  • A forthcoming feature for the latest Pro iPhones allows users to record spatial videos, which will be compatible with the Apple Vision Pro upon its release.

5x optical zoom:
