The Electra Team officially released its Chimera jailbreak for iOS 12.0-12.1.2 on Monday and became the first jailbreak team to release a full-fledged jailbreak supporting A12(X) devices. But as you might come to expect, an initial release is almost always followed with updates to help iron out the kinks.

The Electra Team pushed two consecutive updates for the Chimera jailbreak overnight, dubbed versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 respectively. Electra Team member nullpixel announced the first update, and the Electra Team announced the second via Twitter:

According to the changelogs for the new versions of Chimera, they encompass the following changes:

Chimera 1.0.1:

– Fix the voucher_swap exploit on beta firmware installations

– Fix the voucher_swap exploit on certain iPad Pro devices

– Reduce the .ipa file size by 32%

Chimera 1.0.2:

Fix an issue where the A12X-equipped iPad Pro (2018) would fail to jailbreak

In a follow-up Tweet, the Electra Team elucidates that updating your installation of Chimera isn’t necessary if you’re already successfully jailbroken, but it never hurts. Moreover, it’d be a good idea to download the latest version of the Chimera .ipa just to have it handy for the next time that you might need to re-deploy your semi-tethered jailbreak.

If you haven’t already jailbroken with Chimera, then you can follow our tutorial explaining how to do so. Those waiting for Pwn20wnd’s unc0ver jailbreak tool to fully-support A12(X) devices will want to continue sitting tight for the time being.

Chimera version 1.0.2 is available to download from the official Chimera website.
