Caviar Launches Luxury ‘Royal Gift Editions’ AirPods in Burgundy Red, Black, and Carbon Fiber

If the rumor mill is any hint at what’s coming down the pipe, then Apple is planning on launching AirPods 2 soon.

The latest rumor regarding Apple’s second-generation AirPods suggested the truly wireless headphones will be available in new colors this fall. But if you can’t wait that long, and don’t mind paying hundreds of dollars more, Caviar might have an option for you. The company has just unveiled what it calls “royal gift editions” of the AirPods, which sees Burgundy Red and Black paint jobs available for “only” $590.

Or, if you want to go with the Carbon Fiber option? You will need to fork over $720 to make that happen. The customized AirPods do feature real gold lettering on the Burgundy Red and Black options. The Carbon Fiber opts to forego the gold letting, though. Each option is available now if you are so inclined.

ColorWare is another option, of course. That company will color the case and AirPods themselves almost any color you want, and that only costs $130 premium. Or, you could always wait until later this fall when Apple is rumored to launch the new AirPods in different color options. No word on what colors we should expect, though.

In related news, an earlier rumor regarding the AirPods 2 suggested that Apple is planning on packing quite a bit into the truly wireless headphones. That includes some health tracking features for good measure. And we may finally see AirPower, the wireless charging mat, finally launch sometime in 2019, too.

What do you think of Caviar’s expensive color options? I’d go for a matte black pair of AirPods myself. Or blue, maybe.
