iOS introduces a better, easier way to manage subscriptions

Managing subscriptions in iOS hasn’t always been the easiest process, but it looks like Apple has finally changed that.

The change was first spotted Federico Viticci of MacStories. He notes that the change was implemented by apple within the launch of iOS 12.1.4, and is also included in the iOS 12.2 developer beta as well. It has been confirmed that the change is not present in earlier versions of iOS, so it hasn’t just simply gone under the radar until now.

As for the change itself, it’s relatively small, but nevertheless important. Now, iOS users who want to manage their subscriptions simply need to open the App Store app, select their Profile icon in the top-right corner, and then select “Manage Subscriptions”. Just a couple of taps to get the job done is a nice, welcomed change.

Previously, and on older versions of iOS currently, users need to open the App Store, select their Profile icon in the top-right corner, and then tap on the box with their iCloud ID. It was also accessible via the Settings app as well, if you wanted to skip opening the App Store itself.

The change is present in iOS 12.1.4 for the public, and iOS 12.2 for public and beta testers.

What do you think of the small tweak? If you subscribe to several different services, this should definitely make it easier to manage them. Even if it does reduce the taps on the screen by just one.
