Apple is reportedly considering previewing its upcoming, high-throughput modular Mac Pro architecture at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which is thought to take place this year from June 3-7 at San Jose’s McEnery Convention Center.
Mark Gurman, writing for Bloomberg, says that the Cupertino technology giant has internally “weighed previewing a new version of the high-end Mac Pro” at the developer-only event.
According to people familiar with the deliberations, Apple also plans to debut new software features at WWDC 2019, including a system-wide Dark Mode in iOS for easier nighttime viewing and new productivity tools and other enhancements for iPad.
In designing this high-end, high–throughput, modular Mac Pro desktop, Apple has tasked its new Pro Workflow team with listening to customer feedback and making sure that the engineering team takes into account some of the most-requested features.
They reportedly listen to feedback from both regular customers and award-winning artists and technicians that Apple employed full time in an effort to better identify any sticking points that could cause frustration and friction for pro users.
Tom Boger, Senior Director of Mac Hardware Marketing, in April 2018.
We’re getting a much much much deeper understanding of our pro customers and their workflows and really understanding not only where the state of the art is today but where the state of the art is going and all of that is really informing the work that we’re doing on Mac Pro and we’re working really really hard on it.
The next Mac Pro is coming in 2019 along with Apple’s first 6K display measuring 31.6 inches and rocking “outstanding picture quality” via a new Mini LED-like backlighting design.
