AirPods With Wireless Charging Case Sees Shipping Slip to April

Earlier today, Apple officially launched a new version of AirPods. Unsurprisingly, shipping for the new truly wireless headphones is already slipping.

Apple’s online storefront is already showing the new version of the AirPods isn’t available for arrival near the end of March. To start, Apple listed the new AirPods as arriving between March 27 and March 29, depending on your preferred method of shipping. However, at the time of publication, Apple is now showing that the new AirPods with their wireless charging case will ship between April 2 and April 5.

Apple’s online storefront is still showing pickup in a store as being unavailable.

Keep in mind that the wireless charging case option with the new AirPods retails for $199. Meanwhile, the standard second-generation AirPods, which does not feature a wireless charging case, retails for $159. That option is still shipping before the end of March.

If the original AirPods is any indicator, anyone who wants to pick up a pair of the new, updated option should probably do so quickly. Apple quickly ran out of stock with the original truly wireless headphones, leaving third-party options like wireless carriers to carry the burden of offering stock on a semi-regular basis.

The new AirPods feature “Hey Siri” support, as well as 50% more talk time when compared to the original models.

If you haven’t already ordered the new AirPods, do you plan on doing so soon?
