Adrian Perica has been with Apple for just about a decade, and now the long-time presence is being promoted to an executive role as VP of Corporate Development at the company.

On Wednesday evening, Apple updated its corporate leadership page, indicating that Adrian Perica has been named the company’s newest vice president. Specifically, Perica is named the new Vice President of Corporate Development, and will be answering directly to Apple’s chief executive officer, Tim Cook, directly. In the new role, Perica will be handling Apple’s strategic investing efforts, acquisitions, and the company’s mergers.

Perica joined Apple in the year 2009, and, since then he has “overseen the successful integration of vital technologies and new businesses across hardware, software and services”.

Before he joined Appe, Perica was working with Goldman Sachs (the same company Apple is teaming up with to launch the Apple Card later this year). Before that, Perica worked with Deloitte Consulting and served in the United States Army as an officer.

“A Midwest native, Adrian holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He currently serves on the board of Didi Chuxing.”
