2019 iPhone 11 Alleged Chassis Leak Confirms Triple Rear Cameras

Posted by Rajesh Pandey on Apr 04, 2019 in iPhone 11, News

A photo of what is allegedly the chassis of the 2019 iPhone 11 has made its way to the internet via Weibo. It is difficult to ascertain if the photo is genuine or not, though the chassis is inline with all the rumors that we have heard so far surrounding the iPhone 11.

The chassis has three camera cutouts at the top for the three camera sensors that Apple is rumored to include on the iPhone 11. Apart from the regular wide angle and a 2x telephoto lens, Apple will be including an ultra-wide angle shooter on this year’s iPhone. We also see a massive hole in the center of the chassis where the charging coil for wireless charging will be placed.

Given that the source behind this leak cannot be verified, it is recommended that this photo is taken with a pinch of salt. Even if genuine, it does not really reveal anything new. Reputed analysts and sources have already claimed that 2019 iPhone 11 will feature a triple camera at the back, reverse wireless charging along with bigger batteries, Lightning connector, and more. Other usual yearly improvements including faster performance, better display, and a faster A-series chip are also going to be onboard.

Our Take

What is currently unknown about the iPhone 11 is how Apple will improve its primary camera. The iPhone is no longer the king of the hill when it comes to camera performance and it has been notably left behind by Huawei and Google. Apart from adding an ultra-wide angle sensor, Apple also needs to step up its game and improve the overall imaging performance of the iPhone 11 by a significant margin. The ultra-wide angle camera will allow photographers to shoot pictures with a different perspective but that alone is not going to be enough.
