UKTV Play Is Now Integrated Directly into the Apple TV App and Boxes

If you’re a UKTV Play user, you might be happy to hear that it has now been integrated into the Apple TV app and even the tvOS software.

UKTV Play is the last of the big five free streaming services in Britain to join the Apple TV platform, with BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5 already available. Most developers include support for such integrations quickly, however, it’s possible that UKTV Play had no intention to add the integration until some form of change of heart.

Thanks to this integration, UKTV Play shows will now be able to show up as suggestions in the TV app and tvOS operating system. You’ll be able to combine the service’s library with another one’s as well if you have more than one.

UKTV Play’s general manager, Tom Davidson, commented on the matter:

“Customers have been asking us to bring UKTV Play to Apple TV, so I’m thrilled that they can now enjoy the seamless and brilliant viewing experience that the platform delivers, […] By bringing it to the popular Apple TV platform, our extensive supply of entertaining TV is now even more accessible.”

It’s good to note that the service isn’t available on Samsung TV’s yet, making the enthusiasm shown by Tom Davidson sound a little bit less trustworthy.
