Aside from releasing the iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 updates bringing the overhauled TV app with support for Apple TV Channels to your iPhone, iPad and Apple TV devices, there’s also a new software update available for the HomePod smart speaker.
Release notes accompanying the download say the new HomePod software brings support for joining certain types of enterprise networks “that require unique credentials.”
By default, your Siri-powered speaker should automatically download and install any new updates as they become available. If you’d like to manually check for HomePod updates, you can do that by disabling the automatic update option in the Home app.
To check for and install the new HomePod software manually, begin by openiong the Home app on your iPhone or iPad, then tap the home icon in the upper-left of the corner and choose the option labeled with the text “Software Update”. You will see a message if there’s a new software update available for the speaker along with the option to install it.
TUTORIAL: How to update your HomePod software
Folks with multiple HomeKit-compliant homes set up in the Home app should tap the home icon, then choose the option Home Settings and select a home to check for updates.
