Whenever one of your iPhone’s alarm fires, you’re presented with an interface where you can either snooze or stop the alarm indefinitely. Many have expressed their dissatisfaction with iOS’ native alarm firing interface, and with that in mind, iOS developer VincentMDIM came out with a jailbreak tweak called SnoozeX to address that.
SnoozeX makes the iOS’ alarm firing interface more intuitive, especially for those who have trouble waking up early in the morning after their alarm goes off. As depicted by the screenshot examples above, SnoozeX makes the alarm firing interface easier to interact with, which will be appreciated by folks who are still half asleep when the alarm sounds.
The way the tweak works is quite simple: you configure how many times you want to be able to snooze an alarm each morning (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 times), and SnoozeX takes care of the rest. Depending on the number of snoozes you choose, the tweak shrinks the size of the snooze button, and it continues to shrink each time you tap on it after the alarm fires, ultimately compelling you to stop the alarm and wake up.
SnoozeX adds a preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:
Here, you can:
- Toggle SnoozeX on or off on demand
- Configure the number of snooze opportunities you want to have
- Configure a custom message that appears at the bottom of the interface
While no one particularly enjoys being woken up every morning, the issue is only exacerbated by the fact that the iPhone’s alarm firing interface isn’t as intuitive as it could be out of the box. SnoozeX effectively solves that problem, making the alarm experience superior on the iOS platform.
If you’re interested in trying SnoozeX, then you can download it from Cydia’s Packix repository for just $1.20. SnoozeX works on all jailbroken iOS 11 and 12 devices.
