Samsung’s Wearable App Leaks AirPods Competitor ‘Galaxy Buds’, Galaxy Watch Active Smartwatch
Samsung is working on a new set of AirPods competitor dubbed the Galaxy Buds. The company has leaked the wireless Bluetooth earbuds along with its new smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Active, via its own wearable app.
While Samsung has released quite a few wireless Bluetooth earbuds before under the GearX branding, the Galaxy buds look like Samsung’s best effort yet.
Apart from the Galaxy Buds, Samsung is also working on the Galaxy Watch Active. The leak points to the smartwatch coming in 40mm size. Previous leaks have revealed the Galaxy Watch Active will come with a 1.1-inch circular OLED panel, 768MB RAM, a rotating circular bezel, and a heart rate scanner. As the name indicates, the Galaxy Watch Active will be a sports-oriented smart watch.

Unlike other OEMs, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active will run on its own Tizen OS. The latest version of the OS will feature integration with Bixby Reminders and enhanced fitness tracking capabilities.
Alongside the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch Active, Samsung’s wearable app also leaked two new fitness wearables — the Galaxy Fit and Fit e. Samsung had last released a fitness band back in 2014 and that did not meet with much success. It looks like the company is not done trying and will unveil a new fitness band again.
Samsung will probably unveil all the new products — the Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Buds, and the Galaxy Fit — on February 20th at its Unpacked 2019 event alongside the Galaxy S10 series.
