Apple has just surprised everyone by releasing a new iPod Touch. The new model looks the same as the one it is replacing and it only comes with faster internals and more storage.
The 7th gen iPod Touch retains the same 4-inch display and a regular Home button sans Touch ID. It does come with a notably faster A10 Fusion chip. Apart from the faster internals, the new iPod Touch comes with 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage.
“We’re making the most affordable iOS device even better with performance that is twice as fast as before, Group FaceTime and augmented reality starting at just $199,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing. “The ultra-thin and lightweight design of iPod touch has always made it ideal for enjoying games, music and so much more wherever you go.”
The base variant is priced at $199, while the 128GB and 256GB variants are priced at $299 and $399, respectively. This is the first time that Apple is selling the iPod Touch with 256GB of storage.
The new iPod Touch can be purchased from Apple’s online store starting today. It is available in six colors: space gray, white, gold, pink, blue, and (PRODUCT)Red.
