Alongside the public launch of iOS 12.1.4 today, Apple is also releasing an updated version of macOS 10.14.3.

Apple on Thursday released an updated version of macOS Mojave 10.14.3 that is specifically meant to address the Group FaceTime eavesdropping bug that was discovered earlier this year. As a quick reminder: Apple ran afoul of some security issues recently, after a bug within Group FaceTime was revealed to allow callers to hear a recipient’s audio even before they answered the incoming call.

That led the company to temporarily disable the Group FaceTime feature altogether as it worked on finding a patch. After Apple apologized for the issue and promised a fix, it has finally arrived. The primary function of the software update is to address the FaceTime audio bug that allows for easy eavesdropping.

To update to the newest version of macOS Mojave 10.14.3, owners of supported devices simply need to open the System Preferences app –> Software Update, and then follow the onscreen instructions. As mentioned above, this software update is meant specifically to patch the Group FaceTime bug, and it is not likely going to include any other major new features.

The new software is available now.
