Near the end of March, Apple officially launched tvOS 12.2 to the public. Now, just a couple of weeks later and the company has decided to launch a new version of the software running on the fourth- and fifth-generation set-top boxes.
Apple on Wednesday officially released tvOS 12.2.1 to owners of the fourth- and fifth-generation Apple TV set-top boxes. The update is minor in scale, not introducing any new major forward facing features to the mix. Instead, tvOS 12.2.1 focuses primarily on bug fixes and behind-the-scenes software improvements.
To update, just head into the Settings app on the Apple TV and update from there. Or, if you have Automatic Updates switched on, the set-top box should update itself in the background soon after the update is made available.
For what’s next, that’s with tvOS 12.3 and what that software brings to the table. While that update will be minor in scale, too, it does at least introduce the brand new revamped TV app. That will introduce new Channels, as well as additional features and tweaks to the app.
tvOS 12.2.1 is now available to download and install.
