- All iPhone 15 models are also expected to get USB Type-C connectivity
Apple‘s upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models, namely the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max/iPhone 15 Ultra, could get a titanium frame, solid-state buttons with haptic feedback, and increased RAM as per new reports. The new wave of rumours now comes from tech analyst Jeff Pu who has published a report for Hong Kong-based investment firm Haitong International Securities. The reports highlight the possibility of the iPhone 15 Pro models getting three new features which coincide with earlier reports from “ShrimpApplePro” and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Pu has also stated that the ‘Pro’ models will be using the latest A17 Bionic chipset based on TSMC’s 3nm fabrication process.
iPhone 15 Pro new features
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro might shift to a titanium frame, which is a shift from the current stainless steel frame seen up to the iPhone 14 Pro models. The iPhone 15 Pro is also expected to adopt two new haptic engines to power the new solid-state buttons for the volume rockers and power button. The reports from Jeff Pu also suggests that Apple will be pairing the 3nm A17 Bionic processors with 8GB of RAM on the ‘Pro’ models. This is a 25 percent bump in RAM space as compared to the current lineup. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will adopt the A16 Bionic chipset and are likely to get 6GB of RAM.
The iPhone 15 lineup is expected to get four models – the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max or the iPhone 15 Ultra. All four models may get a USB Type-C port and will use the Snapdragon X70 5G modem from Qualcomm to achieve 5G and LTE connectivity. Jeff Pu also rings the same bells when it comes to optics on the iPhone 15. Pu has mentioned that the iPhone 15 Pro models will get a new periscope technology with an increased optical zoom feature. The iPhone 15 models will adopt the new 48MP primary camera that has debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
