Apple has been working on a new iCloud app for Windows for a bit of time now. Today, that app is finally available to download for Windows users.
Microsoft announced on its official Windows blog today that the all-new iCloud for Windows is available to download. Microsoft says this is an app that’s designed to help Windows users reap the “benefits of their iCloud account” across the Windows 10 and Apple devices they use on a regular basis.
You can easily access your photos, videos, mail, calendar, files and other important information from your iCloud account on the go and on your Windows 10 PC. iCloud is home to iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Safari Bookmarks and more.
Microsoft adds that this new iCloud for Windows app offers a new iCloud Drive experience, which uses the same Windows 10 technology that drives Microsoft’s own OneDrive Files On-Demand feature.
And here are the major bullet points from today’s announcement:
- Access your iCloud Drive files right from File Explorer, without using up space on your PC
- Choose the files and folders you want to keep on your PC
- Safely store all your files in iCloud Drive and access them from your iOS device, Mac and on iCloud.com
- Share any file right from File Explorer and easily collaborate with others – edits will be synced across your devices
Microsoft confirmed today that the new iCloud for Windows app is available now in the Microsoft Store globally. It’s free to download.
Apple also launched an official support document for the new app as well.
If you’re a Windows user, do you think you’ll give this a shot?
