Apple Offering Free 4-Month Apple Music Trial During the Grammys to Shazam Users

Apple is offering a four-month free Apple Music trial to Shazam users who use the app while watching the Grammy Awards tonight. Apple is highlighting this offer as a part of the App Store story today.

Apple will be offering a custom Grammy Awards experience using the Shazam app and new subscribers will get a four-month free Apple Music subscription. That’s a month more than what Apple offers by default to new Apple Music subscribers through the usual means. As for the custom Grammy Awards experience, that includes a complete timeline of the music being played at the show.

Viewers at home can also Shazam the Grammy Awards at any point during the broadcast to identify songs from the awards show and unlock a special offer from Apple Music.

To do this, open the Shazam app, tap to listen, and get a custom Grammy Awards experience highlighting any song being performed in real time – plus a full timeline of music from the night.

The Apple Music special offer will also be featured in the experience and allow new subscribers to sign up and receive four months free.

Apple had acquired Shazam, a music-identifying service, last year. It made the app completely free to use soon after its acquisition. Just yesterday, Apple had sent out push notifications to former Apple Music subscribers offering them a free three-month trial again. It looks like the company is now aggressively pushing Apple Music to iPhone users to increase its subscription base.

If you have been looking to try Apple Music for some time now, this might just be a good time to do so. The Grammy Awards start from 8 PM ET tonight.
