At WWDC 2019, Apple only briefly talked about Voice Control in iOS 13 and macOS Catalina. The feature aims to make it easier for users with a disability to interact with their iPhone/iPad or Mac by solely using their voice. If a demo of Voice Control by AgileBits, the folks behind 1Password is anything to go by, Voice Control is going to be a game changer accessibility feature.

In the video below, you can see how easily one can interact with 1Password using Voice Control. The feature works in a very straightforward manner — whatever action you want to do, just say it. For example, you can say “Tap Done” and in iOS 13, Voice Control will tap the Done button inside the app you are in. Similarly, you can say “scroll down” to scroll down a list, and more.

While Voice Control is a part of iOS 13 and macOS Catalina, developers also need to work on supporting it in their apps. The team behind 1Password was quick to get Voice Control working with their app because of their previous work in this field.

Apple has always been at the forefront in offering accessibility features for its customers across all its products and services. Every year, the company adds some meaningful features to iOS and macOS and Voice Control is another one to the list. For people with disability, the introduction of Voice Control could have a huge impact as it greatly improves the way they interact with these devices.
