2019 iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max Molds Leak; Shows Rear Triple Camera Layout
A photo showing the alleged molds of the 2019 iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max has been posted online. The molds clearly show the triple-camera setup at the top-right corners of the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone 11.
The molds don’t reveal anything new that previously leaked iPhone 11 renders have not shown. The front photo of the mold does confirm that the iPhone 11 will not be coming with a smaller notch than the iPhone X/XS.
Apple will reportedly switch to a 12MP TrueDepth camera set up on the 2019 iPhone lineup so many hoped that this would also lead Apple to reduce the notch size but that’s not going to happen.
The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max mold was likely made by a case manufacturer for their own testing and trial purposes. Given that Apple does not share any dimensions-related data with case makers so ahead of time, these molds have likely been made based on the leaked CAD renders.
The 2019 iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max will feature the same design as the iPhone X/XS, though Apple will seemingly make the switch to frosted glass for the rear. The only noticeable difference is going to be the switch to a triple-camera setup at the rear. Like Samsung, Huawei, and LG, Apple will also include an ultra-wide angle shooter on its 2019 iPhone series. As per Kuo, it will be a 12MP sensor from Sony with 1.0um pixels. The sensor will have a special black coating to make it look inconspicuous.
Are you going to be disappointed if the iPhone 11 comes with the same design as the iPhone X/XS?
