WWDC 2019 Poster Hints at System Wide Dark Mode Coming to iOS 13

Last week, the WWDC 2019 page from Apple went live and confirmed the dates of the event. If the site is anything to go by, it is clear that Apple is finally ready to add a native Dark mode to iOS 13.

This really should not be a surprise especially since Apple got around to adding Dark mode in macOS last year with Mojave. Thus, it is only natural for the company to bring Dark mode to iOS as well. Now that two out of three iPhones sold by Apple feature an OLED display, the addition of a dark mode would be welcomed by all.

iOS 13 is expected to bring about a slight UI redesign which would also include a revamped home screen. With such UI changes, a dark mode will make for a fitting addition.

There’s already a secret dark mode in iOS 12, though Apple will need to refine it further for iOS 13. Most of the popular iOS apps already feature a dark theme and if Apple gets around to adding dark mode in iOS 13, we should see more apps adopt the dark theme.

WWDC 2019 will take place from June 3 through June 7 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Apart from iOS 13, Apple is expected to unveil macOS 10.15, watchOS 6, and tvOS 13.

Until WWDC 2019 comes around, you might want to check out some WWDC 2019 themed wallpapers for your iPhone.
