Seven-Eleven stores in Japan will start selling official iPhone accessories from Apple from next week. Seven-Eleven has over 20,000 outlets in Japan so this will greatly expand the availability of official iPhone accessories in the region.
The items stocked by the store consists of 9 different items including different lengths of Lightning cables, Earpods, and 5W USB adapter, Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, and more. The initial rollout will see the accessories being available in Seven-Eleven stores in central Japan including Tokyo, Hokkaido, Nagano Prefecture, and the Yamanashi Prefecture from May 22.
By selling Apple accessories at Seven-Eleven throughout the country, we will provide many customers with the convenience of being able to purchase at “when they want,” “immediately,” and “nearby” stores.
iPhones are incredibly popular in Japan and this move will have a positive impact on accessories sales in the region. The convenience factor would mean that despite there being better third-party alternatives, customers would simply buy a Lightning cable or Earpods from their nearest Seven-Eleven store when they need one.
