Earlier this week, Health Canada approved the ECG app on the Apple Watch Series 4 thereby paving the way for the feature to make its way to Canada. Now, Apple has informed The Canadian Press that it is working on bringing Apple Watch Series 4’s ECG feature to Canada “as quickly as possible”.

However, Apple failed to provide an estimated timeframe as to when the feature would actually make its way to Canada.

The company says in a statement to The Canadian Press that it will bring the heart health features of Apple Watch Series 4 to Canada “as quickly as possible” but a spokeswoman declined to provide an estimated time of arrival.

It is possible that Apple will enable the ECG feature on the Apple Watch Series 4 in Canada with the upcoming iOS 12.4 and watchOS 5.3 update which should release within the next few weeks.

The ECG feature on the Apple Watch Series 4 was first made available to users in the United States with the watchOS 5.1.2 update in December last year. Since then, Apple has slowly managed to expand it to other countries including Hong Kong, parts of Europe, and more with the watchOS 5.2 update.

Apple has been taking the necessary permissions from regulatory health bodies in every region before rolling out Apple Watch’s ECG feature which is causing the delay.
